Botox is a popular injectable used to temporarily reduce or eliminate facial lines and wrinkles.

We repeatedly make the same facial expressions, such as frowning, smiling, squinting and raising our eyebrows. Wrinkles start to develop along the face and neck from these repeated facial expressions. Over time, these dynamic wrinkles begin to set in and eventually become permanently etched into our face.

Botox injections work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that form these wrinkles, resulting in a smoother skin appearance. It differs from fillers because Botox doesn’t directly increase volume to help with wrinkles. Instead, it temporarily inhibits the facial movements that lead to wrinkle formation.

How much Botox do I need?

The number of units required to provide effective results depends on three main factors:

  • Your facial muscle strength
  • The deepness of your wrinkles
  • The target area you wish to treat

Before undergoing any Botox treatments, our doctor assesses your face and provides a personalized treatment plan that gives you safe, optimal results.
